A small village in British Columbia has made it to the finals of a national competition.

Kraft Heinz Project Play recently announced that Chase, B.C., is one of the top four finalists in a community revitalization initiative.

The grand prize of the competition is $250,000 to go towards a recreational upgrade. Chase is hoping to make its long-time skate park project into reality.

“I can’t believe we made it this far! Bringing home $250,000 would just be a dream come true!” said Kelsey Snelgrove, who made the nomination for the Chase Skate Park.

Snelgrove believes having a local skate park will provide a much needed positive space for Chase youth and youth from other communities nearby.

Chase is the only community in British Columbia to be in the finals. The other cities included are in Newfoundland, Quebec and Ontario.

A panel of judges picked Chase to be included in the final four. The group selected the four communities based on passion and spirit, how the money would be used and the overall creativity of the entry.

More than 800 cities were nominated for this competition.

Voting will begin on Monday and will only run until Tuesday, July 26. To vote. visit the Kraft Heinz Project play website.
