Thieves make off with emergency medical truck

RCMP is investigating a strange theft after someone made off with a unique vehicle and close to 1,000 metres of copper wire.

According to Logan Lake RCMP, someone stole an emergency medical truck from a BC Hydro substation sometime last week. The theft was reported on Aug. 22 and the truck that was stolen is an ambulance bodied 2002 Ford truck. The vehicle is painted white with the letter FMI on the doors and BC licence plate HB1 316.

Police believe the BC Hydro substation was broken into sometime between Aug 18 and 22 in Logan Lake. The thieves also made off with nearly 1,000 metres of conductor copper wire valued at $4,500.

Anyone who may have information about this theft or it they spot the vehicle is asked to call 911 or contact their nearest RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
