The Trans-Canada highway between Revelstoke and Golden is closed in both directions and will stay that way for several hours because of a vehicle incident.

According to DriveBC, the incident is located three kilometres east of Donald and all lanes are closed both ways. A traffic analyst is onsite and it is estimated that the road will not open until sometime between 2 and 4 p.m.

Unfortunately for motorists, there is no detour available and webcam video shows people standing on the road waiting. There is no word on what has happened, but the closure was issued at 11:42 a.m. If you are heading this direction, please check DriveBC for the latest information and updates.
