While rental vacancy rates dip lower than low in B.C., and housing prices skyrocket, one Coquitlam man is giving the offer of a lifetime to a roommate who fits his qualifications.

Brice Royer, 32, is currently recovering from a bout with cancer and is still stricken with chronic fatigue.

To keep him company, and make sure he’s OK, he’s looking for a very unique roommate.

In a Craigslist post, Royer said instead of paying rent, you would get paid $1,500 a month, with one catch: be compassionate.

The homeowner is looking for someone to care for him in simple ways, like preparing dinner, checking on him and offering basic support, like filling out paperwork here and there.

No personal or medical care is required, but the applicant needs to be at the house overnight in case of an emergency.

In exchange, the room mate would have their own bedroom and be paid a minimum of $1,500 each month, more depending on how often they are home.

According to Royer’s ad, a nursing student or someone who works from home would be perfect for the position.

This isn’t the first time Royer has made the news. He is widely known for believing kindness cured his cancer, and posted a Craigslist ad in spring 2015 selling unconditional love for $0 (viewed over one million times).
