The University of British Columbia’s ads will no longer be appearing on an ultra-Republican newsite in the U.S.
On Thursday, UBC cut ties with Breitbart after Emma Pullman, lead campaign strategist for SumOfUs, made the suggestion on Twitter.

The University of British Columbia joins at least 15 other universities and academic institutions, including the University of Lethbridge, who have cut ties with Breitbart in just the last few months.
SumOfUs is calling on McGill University and the University of Montreal to also end their relationships with Breitbart.
“It is not surprising that Canada’s colleges and universities do not want to be associated with Breitbart’s promotion of white supremacy and hate,” said Pullman. “Simply put - Breitbart’s bigoted, racist, sexist and often violent political rhetoric is bad for business.
“We applaud the University of British Columbia and over 750 corporations, universities and organizations that have broken ties with Breitbart.”
SumofUs said they will continue to pressure businesses and educational institutions to do the same.
