Mudslides close 3 B.C. Highways

Multiple highways are closed in B.C. on Friday after rock and mudslides in the province.

Highway 1 is closed in both directions 14 km east of the junction with Highway 12 and the Lytton South Access.

There is a detour available on Highway 5. The roadway is estimated to reopen sometime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to DriveBC.

Highway 12 is closed in both directions near Lytton because of a rock slide. There is no detour available.

Lastly, Highway 8 is closed in both directions 12 km east of Spences Bridge because of a mudslide. There is also no detour available.

Emergency services are still available to people in the area.
