Body of Cache Creek Fire chief Clayton Cassidy has been found

The body of missing person Clayton Cassidy was located in Cache Creek late Saturday evening, Ashcroft RCMP have confirmed.

At approximately 10.30 p.m. on Saturday evening, The Ashcroft RCMP were advised that the body of missing person Clayton Cassidy was located by the Ashcroft fire dept during the daily patrol of Cache Creek.

Mr. Cassidy's body was located a short distance away from the bridge wash out area.

Ashcroft RCMP, Search and Rescue technicians from Kamloops and the Ashcroft Fire Dept, worked throughout the night. Recovery efforts are continuing with SAR techs from the 100 Mile House SAR Team are attending to relieve the previous team.

“It is felt that a recovery will be safely completed today. The Ashcroft RCMP have notified MR Cassidy's family and are providing support,” stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk.
