Four students were brought into custody on Thursday after an incident at New Westminster Secondary School.

Police were called to the school around 10:45 am for reports of a physical altercation involving the four students.

One student was allegedly assaulted by the three others after an argument between the parties escalated.

All four were arrested and police continue to work with the school and district administration to determine the facts of the incident.

“This was an isolated incident between specific students and no one was seriously injured,” said Sgt. Jeff Scott. “There is no risk to any other students at the school.”

The investigation is ongoing and both the school and district are providing students, staff and any families affected by the incident with support.
