More than a year after Ryan Nagy was killed in Burnaby, four people have been arrested and charged in connection to his homicide.

According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), the BC Prosecution Service has charged the following men with manslaughter and forcible confinement:

All four suspects have been arrested and will remain in custody until their first court appearance, a release from IHIT explained.

“Our team worked diligently and tirelessly to bring this file to charge approval,” said Cpl. Chase Smith of IHIT.

The incident that claimed the life of 19-year-old Nagy happened in the 7600 block of 17th Avenue in Burnaby early in the morning of June 29, 2023.

Burnaby Mounties were called to the scene and found Nagy suffering from life-threatening injuries when they arrived.

Despite life-saving efforts from first responders, Nagy succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while another victim was found with non-life-threatening injuries.

The IHIT led the investigation with help from the Integrated Forensic Investigation Team, police departments around the Lower Mainland and the BC Coroners Service.

Since the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be released by police at this time.
