There’s another case of coronavirus in British Columbia.

The seventh case is a man in his 40s who is a close contact of the woman who was diagnosed with the sixth case after returning from Iran.

Over the weekend, Air Canada confirmed that the lady who’s the sixth case took a flight from Montreal to Vancouver on Feb. 14.

However, the man reportedly had symptoms of the illness before the women’s diagnoses.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry did not say where the man lives, but he is within the Fraser Health Authority’s jurisdiction.

The FHA is now working to identify anyone he came into contact with before going into isolation last week.

He remains in isolation and his condition is considered stable.

Despite another case being diagnosed, officials remain adamant that the risk is very low in BC.

"The risk of spread of this virus within BC continues to remain low at this time," said Henry.

"We are watching recent global developments very closely and will continue to adapt our response to developing evidence and ongoing assessment of COVID-19 should it be required. We will notify the public if the measures in BC change.

Henry, along with Minister of Health Adrian Dix, said that anyone returning to BC - no matter where they were in the world - is asked to monitor themselves and their children closely for symptoms.
