It takes a certain kind of character to steal from children.

It’s the type of act that leaves you wondering who would sink to such a level, and that’s what the Burnaby RCMP are asking today.

“Who steals a slide? We want to know,” the Burnaby RCMP tweeted.

“Sometime in the past three weeks, a slide worth thousands was stolen from a south Burnaby playground.”

The RCMP didn’t explain why the stolen slide wasn’t noticed for weeks, but a commenter whose child goes to the school that houses the playground explained that it’s been unused recently.

“They haven’t been able to use a playground all summer because of COVID-19 and the first chance they get to play on one, some jack***(es) go and steal the slide,” he wrote.

Understandably, the kids are upset about the theft.

“The kids in our community love it and miss it,” said the Burnaby RCMP’s tweet.

Anyone with information about the slide’s whereabouts is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
