A BC driver is facing what was probably a hefty ticket and an impounded vehicle after being caught speeding excessively.
The Squamish RCMP said yesterday that a motorist was pulled over after being busted speeding over 100 km/hr.

The driver was caught going 163 km/hr and 188 km/hr in an 80 zone, officers said.
“We will have to ask the experts if a side effect of the COVID lockdown is bringing the inner race car driver out,” the mounties added.
Consequences for excessive speeding are substantially different from regular speeding tickets.
Those caught exceeding the speed limit by more than 40 km/ h are subject to receive a $368 ticket and the vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
If the police say you were driving at a speed of 60+ km/h in excess of the speed limit, the fine goes up to $483.
