A very festive motorist was pulled over and ticketed in Burnaby last night.

The Traffic Section of the RCMP stopped a Tesla near Kingsway and McMurray due to it having Christmas lights draped all across it.

The RCMP said that the driver had actually duct taped the lights onto the vehicle.

Despite the Christmas cheer the driver may have been trying to deliver, the police are asking people to keep their lights on homes and trees.

“Please don’t do this, it can be dangerous if they fall off in traffic, never mind the distraction,” the Burnaby RCMP said.

The driver was issued a violation ticket.
