If Kyle MacDonald didn’t decide to clean his truck recently, who knows if he ever would have found a very valuable piece of paper.

But the Dawson Creek man did decide to give his vehicle a proper tidy and that’s when he found a ticket from the BC/49 draw on Oct. 8.

When he checked it, he discovered that it had won $75,000.

“I was sitting in my truck in my driveway trying to clean up some receipts,” he explained. “Then when I went to can the ticket I was just like, ’wow, really?’ I thought it was crazy.”

Thanks to the significant windfall that almost wasn’t, MacDonald can now surprise his kids with an impromptu family vacation.

“It’s pretty awesome,” he said about his good fortune.

The winning ticket was purchased by MacDonald at the Dawson Co-op Bar on 8th Street in Dawson City.
