The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) arrested Dimitri Nelson Hyacinth from Surrey on April 29.

He was charged with the aggravated assault of Jatinder Singh that happened on April 21.

On May 3, the IHIT announced that Hyacinth is also being charged with second-degree murder in the relation to the homicide of Sohi.

“These events have had a significant impact on a community,” says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.

“I hope that today’s announcement provides a further sense of relief to those who frequent the White Rock promenade.”

Investigators continue to ask any witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding the homicide to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
