The Buffalo Bills convincing 38-9 win over the New England Patriots to cap off the NFL’s week 16 action was the final piece of the puzzle for Gordie Wingman and Edward Cote.

The long-time Toto players from Port Alberni, who have played together for more than a decade, needed the Bills to win by four or more to have a chance at a big win.

Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and company pulled through for the duo with a 29-point win on Monday Night Football, but they didn’t find out the extent of their prize until Tuesday morning.

It was $55,425.85.

“My wife had seen online that we were winners so I had to call Ed,” said Wigman.

“I was in bed when Gordie called me at 6 am to share the news,” recalled Cote. “I told him this better be worth it!”

While Wingman already has plans for his portion of the prize towards a new roof, Cote says he’ll be saving his share for now.

Maybe he’ll look into buying a Bills jersey!
