Retirement just got a lot more interesting for Lea Olsen.

The Port Coquitlam resident is on cloud nine after matching all six numbers from the June 19 BC/49 draw to win the game’s top prize of $2,000,000.

The win came just one week before Olsen’s retirement.

“I don’t even remember my first thought, I was so excited and just started screaming!” she recalled. “My husband thought there was something wrong.”

Still trying to contain her excitement, Olsen called her daughter to share the news.

“She didn’t believe me so I texted her a photo,” explained Olsen. “She came over right away.”

While she plans on gifting some of her winnings to her family, a lot of the money will go towards her retirement dream of worldwide travel and Europe is at the top of her bucket list.

“Now I can be a little more extravagant and travel first class,” she said. “It feels very surreal, I can’t believe this is happening!”

Olsen, who likes to play the lottery with her own numbers that are a combination of family birthdays, purchased the winning ticket from Crunchy Bites Market in Port Coquitlam.
