B.C. mom charged with 2nd-degree murder in death of her 7-year-old daughter

A Langley mom has been formally charged in connection with the shocking murder of her seven-year-old daughter.

Kerryan Lewis, 36, was arrested on Friday and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Aaliyah Rosa.

Rosa’s body was discovered in the suite of a Langley apartment building on July 22, shocking the community.

Acccording to Cpl. Frank Jang, officers interviewed many residents in the neighbourhood, compiling as much evidence as they possibly could.

In a release on Monday, Jang offered the RCMP’s “deepest condolences go out to the family of Aaliyah Rosa and we hope that we were able to provide some answers to her family.”

Lewis is scheduled to make her first court appearance in Surrey today.
