Baby passes away in hospital 6 days after being found in BC dumpster

A 21-year-old woman was arrested after a tragic incident in the Fraser Valley.

RCMP were called on Nov. 23 for reports that a newborn baby had been found in a dumpster in Mission.

Emergency crews attended the scene in the 33600 block of Prentis Avenue, where they found the baby girl and rushed her to hospital.

She remained in critical condition until Thursday, Nov. 29 when she tragically passed away.

The official cause of death is still under investigation.

RCMP have since released the woman who was arrested in connection to the incident and no charges have been laid at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
