A man has been charged by conservation officers in Squamish after a bear ripped into his tent.

He was also evicted from the campsite.

The Conservation Officer Service said the bear went into the tent to access unattended food.

“This incident could have been much worse,” the service explained.

The recreation site, which officers did not name, was also shut down after the incident.
