(Update: 2 p.m.): The woman has now been found safe, Mounties said.

(Original story: 8:30 a.m.): Coquitlam RCMP are seeking the public’s help to locate a missing woman.

On Sunday, Barbara Tom was reported as an “unauthorized absence” from the Brookside Treatment Centre at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam.

As a result, the RCMP have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the 46-year-old for being unlawfully at large.

Tom is described as a First Nations woman with long black hair and brown eyes.

She’s 5’4”, 120 lbs and was last seen wearing a grey and white hoodie, a white puffy jacket and dark grey pants.

The public is asked not to approach Tom if you see her, but instead call 911 immediately and report the sighting.

If you have any information regarding the missing woman’s whereabouts, call the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2019-18856.
