Driver caught going double the speed limit, Lotus impounded in southern BC

Police in southern BC had to deal with another excessive speeder last week. 

According to Trail RCMP, on May 6 at 12:22 pm, an officer was conducting routine traffic patrol when they noticed a vehicle travelling at 122 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. 

The cop pulled over the 2008 yellow Lotus sports car in the 3000 block of Highway 3B in Trail.

A 54-year-old Montrose man was detained during the incident. 

The man was issued a $483 fine for excessive speed. His Lotus was also impounded for seven days. 

RCMP warned other drivers saying they would be conducting provincial-wide speed enforcement.
