Lillian Williamson of Regina, Sask., likely didn't realize a pit stop for gas in would actually make her half a million dollars richer.

The great grandmother was traveling to Kelowna to visit her 12 grand and great-grandchildren when she purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket at the Fas Gas station in Golden, BC.

That ticket went all to match all four numbers during Saturday's Extra draw.

“I feel numb,” Lillian said of the big win from BCLC’s Kamloops prize claim office. “It’s only my second time visiting B.C.”

She says her top priority is to share the winnings with her grand and great-grandchildren as well as plan a little vacation for herself.

“I’ve always dreamed I could go to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville,” she said. “The first thing I will have to do is renew my passport.”

In 2019, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $85 million in prize-winning Lotto 6/49 tickets.

BCLC also reminds gamblers to play for fun and not to make money.
