(UPDATE: 9:15 a.m.) - Highway 5 is once again fully open, but exit 290 near Merritt remains closed, according to Drive BC.

The off-ramp is still expected to reopen around 11 a.m.

(Original story: 8:25 a.m.) - Drive BC is reporting that Highway 5 has closed northbound just north of Merritt.

The closure is due to an overturned semi on the exit 290 off ramp.

Crews are already on scene and the estimated time of reopening is 11 a.m.

There is no current detour available.

Highway 5 was previously closed on Wednesday morning due to a separate vehicle incident 27 km north of Merritt.

That section of highway has since reopened.
