(UPDATE: March 26 @ 1 pm) - The search for a pair of suspects wanted for the murder of a BC man in Ontario last month has become a little more complicated.

The Hamilton Police confirmed in a press conference this morning that Oliver Karafa, 28, and Yun (Lucy) Lu Li, 25, have fled Canada to Eastern Europe.

"We believe that Karafa and Li are aware that they are wanted in relation to the incident and are actively evading police," explained Sgt. Jim Callender, who encouraged the pair to turn themselves in.

"We are working closely with international authorities and we are positive that our investigation will lead to your whereabouts. We will continue to relentlessly pursue you."

Karafa and Li are alleged to have killed 39-year-old Tyler Pratt of BC in the Stoney Creek area of Hamilton on Feb. 28.

Both suspects are also facing attempted murder charges, as a 26-year-old woman was also found at the scene suffering from serious injuries.

(UPDATE: March 5 @ 11:20 am) - The Hamilton Police Service has identified a pair of suspects who are wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a man from British Columbia last weekend.

Warrants have been issued for Oliver Karafa, 28, and Yun (Lucy) Lu Li, 25, who are both wanted for first-degree murder.

"Both suspects reside in Toronto and police believe they have left the area," said a statement from police.

"Hamilton Police have recovered the vehicles believed to have been involved in the incident and are seeking to locate Karafa and Li."

The public is advised to not approach either individual, but rather notify police if they see either suspect or have information that could aid the investigation.

Sunday's shooting claimed the life of 39-year-old Tyler Pratt from BC and left another 26-year-old woman with serious injuries.

(Original story: March 1 @ 12:40 pm) - The Hamilton Police are investigating the city’s third homicide of 2021, which involves a victim from British Columbia.

Reports of the shooting came in around 7:15 pm on Sunday, which sent officers rushing to the scene at 347 Arvin Avenue in Stoney Creek, a community in Hamilton.

That’s where they found a 26-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries and 39-year-old Tyler Pratt of BC, who was dead.

The woman was transported to hospital in serious condition.

It’s now believed that the suspect or suspects left the scene in a new model white Land Rover SUV.

Investigators are currently looking to talk to more potential witnesses who were in the area on Sunday night and are trying to establish a motive behind the fatal shooting.

At this time, however, very little information is available.
