Police have arrested a man after a woman reported that she was assaulted.

The Vancouver Police said that the victim, a pregnant woman and business owner, approached a man earlier this week and asked him to move from in front of her store.

The man then allegedly responded by throwing rocks at her stomach.

The woman, who is eight months pregnant, called police and officers were able to locate the suspect nearby.

He was arrested for assault and taken to jail, where he assaulted a VPD sergeant by coughing on him.

Police say that the woman was not physically injured.
