The Vancouver Aquarium’s Marine Mammal Rescue Centre has introduced their newest intake – an orphaned sea otter pup.

The centre has saved several sea otter pups over the years, allowing the public to follow along with their progress and “virtually adopt” the pups.

The newest pup is named Joey, and he was discovered by a member of the public near Kyuquot on Thursday night.

Joey is estimated to be about 10 days old and only weighs 1.76 kgs.

He was found with hypothermia and hypoglycaemic. He was flown into Vancouver on Friday morning and is now stabilizing and enjoy some food and rest.
