Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, visited a women's shelter in downtown Vancouver on Tuesday.

The actress and aristocrat was photographed at the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre.

According to the organization, which posted the picture on Facebook, the Duchess of Sussex discussed "issues affecting women in the community" over tea.

Meghan and her husband Prince Harry recently announced they will step down from senior royal duties and split their time between North America and the UK.

The Queen has since expressed some support for the couple’s decision.

British Columbia Premier John Horgan has said he’s already had conversations with the prime minister about the couple possibly moving to his province.

Questions around who would pay security costs for the pair are yet to be answered.
