The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for TWA Fungi king oyster mushrooms.
Issued on July 1, for possible listeria contamination, the recall affects the 200 gram products with the UPC 6 957937 480051.
All units sold up to and including July 01, 2022 are impacted.
This product has been sold in BC and may have been distributed in other provinces and territories.
People who may have bought this product are advised not to consume, serve, use, sell or distribute the mushrooms.
Food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.
Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
Health Canada confirms that there have been no reported illnesses associated with this product.
However, if a person may have eaten these products and become ill, they are advised to call their local healthcare provider.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation into the products and removing all recalled items from the marketplace.
