Harold MacDougall left his house in search of good pizza, but returned home with so much more.

The Qualicum Beach resident was out for a slice when he decided to buy a Casino Royale II Scratch & Win ticket at Quality Foods.

When he got home, he scratched the ticket and discovered that he won $75,000.

“The first thing that crossed my mind was that it wasn't real,” said MacDougall. “It’s a nice feeling to win.”

MacDougall first shared the exciting news with his partner before calling a good friend to let them know as well.

“I called my friend Mike, who didn't believe me at first,” MacDougall explained. “He had to call back and check with my partner to make sure it was true.”

When it’s safe to travel after COVID-19, the Vancouver Island man plans on spending his winnings on a few trips, including Cape Breton and Scotland to visit some family!
