UPDATE: RCMP locate man ‘unlawfully at large’ from the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in BC

(Update: April 18, 2019) - The Coquitlam RCMP have confirmed that Christopher Askey, who was reported missing from the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, was located yesterday. 

Askey was unlawfully at large for almost a week after failing to return to the hospital on April 10, 2019.

The Coquitlam RCMP is seeking help locating a patient who is unlawfully at large after failing to return to the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, at 70 Colony Farm Road in Coquitlam.

Christopher Thomas Joseph Askey was reported missing on April 10, 2019, just before 10 p.m. after failing to return on a day pass.

Askey may behave in a way that presents a risk to themselves or the public, so if you see Askey, police ask that you not approach him and call 911 immediately instead.

Askey is described as a 50-year-old Caucasian man with black hair, a light-coloured beard, and brown eyes. He is about 183 cm (6’) tall, 82 kg (181 lbs) with a heavy build.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey sweatpants, a black shirt, white shoes and a dark toque.
