A Saskatoon couple that visits British Columbia regularly for work and vacation had a memorable trip out west in October.

Andrei and Zinaida Milchevska secured a $500,000 Extra prize from the Lotto Max draw on Oct. 14.

They bought their ticket from a gas station in Wonowon, which is deep into northern BC on Hwy 97 north of Fort St. John.

“I was at work during a night shift, and I scanned the ticket on the Lotto! App and saw it was a winner,” recalled Andrei.

“Then I called my wife to tell her and woke her up – we both could not believe it!”

They plan to celebrate their life-changing windfall with a nice dinner out, but hope to use the winnings to help out friends and family.

When asked how it feels to win such a big amount playing the lottery, Andrei summed it up with five words.

“We just can’t believe it.”
