A lengthy weekend search for a missing ATV rider came to a tragic end on Saturday.

“Sixteen KHSR volunteers searched 30 kilometres of logging roads by UTV and on foot through the night, suspending the search at 3 am on (Sunday),” explained KHSR on Facebook.

“Poor weather and darkness hammered the search through the night.”

The search resumed at 9 am on Sunday and the young man was unfortunately found dead around noon at the 25 km mark of the logging roads, just north of Cogburn Creek.

Mission Search and Rescue also lent a hand searching on Sunday and KHSR says more than 250 volunteer hours were expended during this incident.
