The Metro Vancouver Transit Police are searching for a suspect following a fight on a Surrey bus this weekend.
It happened in the area of 96th Avenue and 120th Street around 9:30 am on Saturday.
The incident started when a passenger sitting on the bus noticed another man board the bus without a mask.
He reportedly grabbed an unused mask from his bag and offered it to the other man, but he refused to put it on.
The victim then asked the suspect whether he had a medical exemption that allowed him to not wear a mask on public transit, at which point the assailant allegedly began the fight.
A video of the altercation was taken, although it begins after the brawl began, and it was posted to social media.
It shows the suspect, who was wearing a black puma sweatshirt, throwing a number of punches before the two separate briefly.
They then move towards the back doors of the bus and the fight continues for a brief period outside the vehicle before seemingly coming to an end as the video stops.
The suspect then left the scene before authorities could arrive, while the victim was treated for his injuries in hospital.
According to the person who took the video, there was plenty of blood to clean up after the fight.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Metro Vancouver Transit Police at 604-515-8300.
