There was nearly a disastrous collision between a runaway food truck and vehicle traffic in Vancouver last week.

It happened on Wednesday, Oct. 20 around the busy intersection of Main Street and Southwest Marine Drive.

Video captured by @heeeydevon on Instagram picks up the situation as the Japadog trailer barrels down the hill southbound towards a very busy intersection with traffic flowing east-west.

Fortunately, the trailer starts to drift to the left and crashes into a pole before it’s able to enter traffic and cause some serious destruction.

A popular staple in Vancouver, Japadog took to social media on Monday to offer its “sincere apology” for what happened.

“We are terribly sorry for the incident that could have caused a bigger danger, and are grateful that no one got hurt during the incident,” a Facebook post said.

“We have immediately taken the preventive actions and placed the safety policies to prevent any similar future incidents.”

It’s a good thing the pole got in the way and people are able to laugh about the viral video rather than clean up a potentially messy accident.
