The Vancouver Police Department had its hands full with a trio of homicides on Wednesday night.

They happened in two separate incidents that officers responded to within an hour of each other.

Shortly before 7 pm, two people were found unresponsive in a room at the Astoria Hotel.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other died at hospital.

Around half an hour later, officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired near East 64th Avenue and Knight Street.

One victim was found dead in front of a house in the area.

Both incidents are being investigated by the VPD’s major crime section, but it’s believed that there’s no risk to the public.

These are Vancouver’s 12th, 13th and 14th homicides of 2020.
