After partially closing on August 5th, Wells Gray Provincial Park is once again fully open to the public.

Current and forecasted conditions have allowed the B.C. Parks and Recreation Sites and Trails B.C. to rescind the closure.

While the public can once again enjoy full use of the park, a campfire ban remains in place for the entire Kamloops Fire Centre.

Any campfires lit in Wells Gray Provincial Park before this ban is lifted will result in heavy fines.

Wildfire are dynamic and circumstances may change quickly, so B.C. Parks and the B.C. Wildfire Service will continue to assess the situation to help protect public safety.

Should the need arise, provincial park closures may be enacted in the future.
