Potential buyers are lining up around the block to have a chance to live in downtown Kelowna’s newest highrise.

Of course, the lineup is technically an online registry system, but Okanagan-based development team Mission Group reports that the response is greater than they’ve ever seen.

“With over 10,000 registrants, we’ve definitely had more interest in this project than any other to date,” said Luke Turri, Vice President of Development at Mission Group.

“Kelowna’s on the map, the downtown is transforming and people are starting to recognize the value of urban living in the city.”

The 10,000 plus who have pre-registered will have the first crack at securing a home in the 34-storey, 257-unit Bertram tower when sales kick off this Saturday, Sept. 19.

Pricing for a unit starts in the mid-$200,000 range, with the majority of suites sitting under $500,000.

Construction on the building is expected to begin this fall and will take roughly three years to complete.

It's one of three towers by Mission Group on Bernard Avenue, construction on the first building dubbed Brooklyn is already underway.

The development also calls for a third 16-storey, 85,000 square foot office building.
