In this episode of Rick and Friends, Rick Maddison is joined by Scott Lanigan, the chair of the Central Okanagan Journey Home Society

They discuss the many ways individuals can help our community.

“My challenge to people in hearing this, and even in investing in whatever local community they’re in, especially in the Okanagan, be a participant,” Lanigan says.

Central Okanagan Food Bank, the Child Advocacy Centre of Kelowna, Helen’s Acres Community Farm are some of the organizations that Lanigan suggests supporting.

“You may not be interacting with that individual who’s been on the street for 25 years, but you’re actually working with organizations that will help people and perhaps stop individuals today from ending up on the street tomorrow.”
