Crews will be performing avalanche control on Hwy 1 on Thursday afternoon.

The work will be done between Rogers Pass Summit and Beaver Valley Road, which is about an 11-kilometre stretch.

It’ll result in four hours of intermittent closures on the highway, from 1 pm until 5 pm.

DriveBC warns of “major delays,” as closures may last up to two hours at a time.

No detours are available and travellers are advised to plan their trip around the four-hour period.

All the latest information will be available on the DriveBC website.
