UPDATE: All Hwy 5 SB lanes are open

(UPDATE: 5:04 p.m.) - Drive BC has cleared the advisory for BC Hwy 5 southbound following the incident at the Coquihalla Summit. All lanes are open, though, 20-minute delays are to be expected due to congestion.

Clean-up work continues 45-kilometres south of Merritt following the vehicle fire and drivers should be prepared for delays of up to two hours.

(UPDATE: 3:10 p.m.) - Drive BC is advising drivers of delay up to two hours between Hope and Merritt following a vehicle fire on the Coquihalla this afternoon. 

Another vehicle incident is also causing delays southbound due to a vehicle incident in the Box Canyon area.

(UPDATE: 2:30 p.m.) - The left land northbound of the Coquihalla is open after a truck and trailer caught fire along the highway. 

Crews remain on scene, and lane closure are in effect. 

Drivers are advised of heavy delays on this route.

Drive BC says the closure is 45 km south of Merritt. Travellers should expect delays.
