(UPDATE: Feb. 28 @ 1:35 pm): Hwy 1 and Hwy 97 have reopened following earlier vehicle incidents.

Please drive with caution.

(Original Story: Feb. 28 @ 8:30 am): Residents looking to travel throughout the Interior should be aware of some road closures.

According to Drive BC, both Hwy 1 and Hwy 97 are closed in both directions. The Hwy 1 closure comes west of Revelstoke while the Hwy 97 incident is south of Williams Lake.

Hwy 1 has been closed for over an hour near the Three Valley Gap following a vehicle incident. There is no detour available and an assessment is currently in progress.

A vehicle incident is also the reason for Hwy 97 being closed between Omertto Road and Mission Road South. This closure has a detour via Mission Road.

Emergency crews are on scene and an assessment is also in progress.

The next update for the Trans Canada Highway is expected at 9:30 am while Hwy 97 shouldn't get any new reports until 11 am.

NowMedia will update the story when more information is available.
