Hwy 1 closed near Golden due to 'high avalanche hazard'

Travellers looking to use Hwy 1 this afternoon should take note of a closure near Golden. 

According to Drive BC, the highway is closed in both directions between Golden Donald Upper Road and Yoho Bridge. 

The closure comes due to a "high avalanche hazard." 

At this point, crews are on scene and the highway is expected to reopen by 7 pm tonight.
