(UPDATE: Sept. 12 @ 11 am) - The crash on Hwy 3 near Hope has been cleared.

DriveBC advises motorists to expect some delays as traffic gets flowing again.


(UPDATE: Sept. 12 @ 9:50 am) - A single lane of westbound traffic has reopened at the site of an earlier crash near Hope.

DriveBC says motorists should "expect major delays."

The crash happened shortly after 8 am in the area of Exit 173 on Hwy 3, between the Hwy 1 and Hwy 5 junctions near Hope.


(Original story: Sept. 12 @ 8:45 am) - A crash has shut down a major section of highway near Hope.

The incident happened in the westbound lanes of Hwy 3, between the Hwy 1 and Hwy 5 junctions at Exit 173, shortly after 8 am.
 


Initially, traffic was halted in both directions, but eastbound traffic has started flowing now.

Westbound traffic remains closed, however, and DriveBC expects to provide another update shortly.
