(UPDATE: Jan. 14 @ 8:15 am) - A previous 'vehicle incident' on Hwy 97 in Winfield has been cleared.

As a result, traffic is once again flowing both southbound and northbound.

Conditions are far from ideal, however, so slow it down and drive cautiously.

(Original story: Jan. 14 @ 6:30 am) - If you’re heading from the Central Okanagan to the North Okanagan this morning, you may have to get a little creative with your route.

A ‘vehicle incident’ has blocked Hwy 97 northbound between Pollard Road and Berry Road, which is right in the middle of Winfield.

While there are detours available, an accident like this on Hwy 97 tends to back up traffic significantly around rush hour.

Drive BC said the next update would be provided at 7 am, but currently there’s no estimated time for the road to reopen.

NowMedia will update this story as more information becomes available.
