Environment Canada is warning that there is a potential for snowfall on the Coquihalla between Merritt and Kamloops today and tonight.

A low pressure system will spread precipitation across southern BC this morning. As the low approaches, the atmosphere will become increasingly unsettled and there is the potential for bands of heavier snow to develop.

The heavy bands of snow are most likely to occur this afternoon and this evening and amounts will vary considerably between locations.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly and driving conditions can be hazardous. Make sure you monitor DriveBC and Environment Canada if you’re planning on travelling today.
