Maintenance and winterization work will cause a bit of a hiccup for some West Kelowna drivers tonight.

It will result in the closure of Boucherie Road between Hayman Road and Stuart Road, starting around 7 pm.

The work is expected to take around three hours and the City of West Kelowna projects the road to be open again at 10 pm.

The road gets closed to allow crews to safely mow, trim, prune, weed and blow out irrigation lines.

It’s being done late at night, rather than during the day, to reduce the impact on motorists as much as possible.

Emergency crews and residents who live along Boucherie in between Hayman Road and Stuart Road will be allowed access during the closure.

On Wednesday, street sweepers will work along the same section of road between 5 am and 7 am.

It won’t be closed at that time, but motorists may still wish to use a different route to avoid delays.
