UPDATE: Trans Canada Highway open to alternating traffic after trailer fire

(UPDATE: Dec. 19 @ 8:55 a.m.) - Highway 1 is open to alternating traffic for a vehicle recovery. The highway was closed last night after a tractor trailer erupted into flames. Minor delays are expected until the trailer can be removed.

(Update - 11:00 p.m.)- Highway 1 is closed 6 kilometres east of Mt. Revelstoke National Park due to a vehicle fire, the road should open at any time. 

(Original - 9:00 p.m.)- Residents travelling on Highway 1 may need to watch out as there is a reported semi truck fire near Albert Canyon.

At approximately 8:45 p.m., Drive B.C. tweeted that crews were en route to the incident that took place between Revelstoke and Golden. 

Drive BC has not mentioned if the road is closed and there is no more information available at this time. No updates have been scheduled.
