Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.

A Pacific weather system is to blame.

There could be as much as 25 cm of snow falling between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

It will increase in intensity tonight, the agency said.

“The heavy snow will ease in intensity through Thursday but periods of snow are still expected,” Environment Canada explained.

“Snow levels will remain near valley bottom except near Hope where rain is expected.”

Drivers are warned to be especially cautious on the road.

Updated road conditions are available at www.drivebc.ca.
