A strong Pacific frontal system is bringing snow to much of the B.C. Interior, including several mountain passes.
That includes Hwy 3 between Paulson Summit and the Kootenay Pass, where 25 centimetres of snow is expected on Tuesday.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning pertaining to this expected dump and advises drivers to use extra caution is travelling today.
Even postponing a trip until Wednesday is advisable, as the snow is expected to taper off this evening as the front system exits the region.
“Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions,” reads the alert from Environment Canada. “Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.”
